BRIGGS & STRATTON HISTORY
Our story began in 1908 when inventor Stephen F. Briggs and investor Harold M. Stratton formed an informal partnership. They shared a spirit of innovation and a desire to explore the endless possibilities in the world of manufacturing.

OUR ENGINES
We're most widely known for our lawn mower engines, although we’ve powered everything from coin-operated paper towel dispensers to a gasoline/electric hybrid vehicle. In addition, our racing engines are found in more go-karts, dragsters and other competitive racing vehicles than any other company.

100 YEARS OF POWER
At our 100-year mark, we reign as the world’s largest manufacturer of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment and racing vehicles. We’ve reinvented ourselves by entering the end products business to produce generators, pressure washers, pumps, walk-behind and riding lawn mowers, trimmers, hedgers and more.
